I won a blitz chess tournament last night. It was handicapped by time (20 minutes for each game in total, a one minute swing for every 20 points or part thereof difference in grades). I employed the Swiss Gambit by drawing in round 1 and thus avoided being paired against any of the top six seeds (I was the top seed) and finished on 4.5/5.

This was my prize:

This triumph was just the spur I needed to quit my job and become a full time chess professional (paid in wine gums).

The old Swiss Gambit trick. I have used that myself from time to time.

Yes quit your job. Man can live on wine gums quite easily.
I'll tell Calrsen, Caruana and the rest you are on your way.

Good Luck.

He hasn't made a move since long and I didn't encounter him in the forum either.

He's on a secret mission from MI5. (Don't tell anybody though.) (And don't call him Shirley.)

He's using a different name on RHP now, a practice I thoroughly disapprove of.

Alright. Thanks all for taking my question so serious. πŸ˜•

Glad I figured it out though πŸ˜€

By the way, sorry DF for hijacking the thread. But it's not totally my fault...

Why? Using multiple accounts to cheat in some way, fair enough. But why can't someone start a new account if they stop using the old one? I don't really see that that is a rule violation, you only have one active account..
