The prize is of the Open is twice as much as the LCC and even my level is $10,000 less. So if I was a GM at the LCC I would go to this. My parents even have a time share in Vagas. My dad even has a college friend that lives outside the city, he is a psychologist.

The Exchange French still has bite if one player is up for it.
Kasparov played it v Korchnoi when needing a win - and he got it.
    But that is Kasparov.

On here I have the Exchange French 10,281 times.

    White Wins 4,016
    Draws 1441 ( 15% )
    Black Wins 4,824

    White is in Zugzwang.
What ever plan White adopts Black has a good antidote.
When was the Kasparov/Korchnoi game played? I have read Korchnoi's 'Chess is my life' book and his 'My best games' white and black books. I can't remember which one i read this in but there is an annotation in one where Korchnoi proudly shows off his record against Tal and demonstrates his psychological domination by laughingly showing how Tal played the French exchange against him in a desperate attempt to scrape a draw (he didn't, Korchnoi won that game too). Perhaps Kasparov read this and served up a spanking Victor would really remember. 😀
