If you could make forum posts show most recent on the top page, it’d make life much simpler.
List them all in LATEST FIRST, then scanning down the comments that lead up to it would be quicker and easier

This would never happen by default.

But, as an option..does anyone else actually want this?

I'm fine with leaving it as is, but....
On the 'my games' page, games can be sorted in a variety of ways.
Perhaps something similar could be added as an option for the forums.

    Certainly not. Way to Facebooky.

Next thing will be sorting by “top comments” based on thumbs, and you know where I stand on that topic πŸ˜„

Edit: don’t object to posters having the option of course, just not the default.

The forum posts already default to the latest page.
I think that's good enough although the idea has merit

I think we are at cross purposes.
I clicked on the date on the thread "work in progress"in this forum and it took me to the top of page 2

Venda is right, if you click on the title of the thread (eg. Last Word Sentences) it will take you to the first page of the thread, but clicking on the date will take you straight to the last page.
