1. Ng1f3 e6 2. g3 f5 3. Bf1g2 c6 4. O-O
I was trying to get my king out of the middle asap, so that I could attack black. It was clear at this point they were behind in development so I would be able to rush them rather effectively. I do believe I should have played d3 and then e4.
4... h5 5. d3
Opening up my knight on b1 to d2 and allowing me to play e4.
5... Bf8b4 6. Nf3e5
A nice little spot blocking black's e pawn (opening up e4 even more) and allowing the knight to eventually move to g6 where he'll fork the rook and Bishop.
6... Ng8h6 7. Ne5g6
I think the timing for this move was appropriate. It's preventing from black from getting his king out of the middle and onto the king side. Which probably wasn't black's strongest option considering his pawn structure on that side of the board. This move is also attacking the rook on h8.
7... Rh8g8
Saves his rook from nxrh8. There really wasn't any other option at this point.
8. a3
Pushing back the bishop from b4. Opening up nd2.
8... Qd8a5
Now white cannot play a3xBb4 because black threatens to reply with QxRa1 and QxNB1.
9. Bc1g5
Setting up a king side assault, blocking a queen side castle.
9... Bb4d6
Black preventing 10. Ne7, which threatens NxRg8, KxNg8.
10. e4
White is finally trying to get a pawn in the center. Also trying to break into black's pawn structure.
10... f4
Black declines a trade of pawns. 11. Bxf4 BxBf4 12. g3xBf4 is possible, but probably not in white's best interest. Not this early on anyway.
11. Qd1xh5
Adding to the king side assault and setting up for Ne7+. Which would lead to Kf8 NxRh8 KxNh8. Giving white a Rook for a Knight.
11... Nh6f7
Blocks Ne7+, however black is now in a tough position.
12. Qh5h7
Threatens QxRg8+ which the knight cannot defend. Black's only response would be Bf8 blocking the queens check. However, QxBf8++ is playable, as is Be7, QxBf8++.
12... Rg8h8
Black tries to push whites queen back or set up the trade QxRh8?? NxRh8. White has another option.
13. Ng6xh8
White's alternate option. Now if black takes white's knight he can take back yet again with his queen putting black's king into check.
13... Qa5xg5
Getting nearly equal material for the rook. Was a good move, I didn't see it until it was too late, but I wouldn't have played things differently anyway.
14. Qh7g8
White starts breathing down black's neck, he's trying to get a quick kill.
14... Bd6f8
Now white cannot play QxBf8, but white has other strong options.
15. Qg8xf7
Wins a knight. A quiet developmental move like 15. Nc3 I believe is playable here.
15... Ke8d8
Black's only move.
16. Qf7xf8
Pushes black's king to c7.
16... Kd8c7
With white having no dark square bishops, this isn't a bad spot.
17. Qf8xf4
Gets a pawn and tries to put an end to black's king side assault before it begins. In hind sight, this really wasn't the best option. White opens up his king a bit and gives away an active queen for a rather useless one.
17... Qg5xf4 18. gxf4 Nb8a6 19. f5 exf5 20. exf5 d6 21. Bg2h3
Protects the f-pawn from Bxf5.
21... Bc8d7
Attacks the f-pawn, attacks the knight on the back rank (RxNh8) and prevents a rook from checking the king from the e-file.
22. Nh8f7 Ra8f8
Black is attacking white's knight (again) and also putting more pressure on f5.
23. Nf7xd6
White is potentially sacrificing his knight to make getting to black's king a little easier. Black could take f5 and win a pawn.
23... Rf8f6
Threatening RxNd5.
24. Nd6e4
Threatening NxRf6.
24... Rf6h6
Threatening RxBg3. Winning a free bishop and allowing Bxf5 with no trading involved.
25. Kg1g2
Puts a stop to black's plans. If he wants F5, he'll have to trade for it.
25... Na6b8 26. c4
Trying to get some king side pawns onto his side of the board to make getting after his king that much easier.
26... Bd7e8 27. Nb1c3
Developing a king side attack and finally getting the king side knight into the fray.
27... Nb8d7 28. d4 Nd7b6 29. d5 cxd5 30. Nc3xd5
Allows white to trade knights. Black can re-capture with RxNb6 or axNb6. However, black doesn't have too many options left.
