Marcin Kamiński is a Polish chess player and grandmaster. He was first awarded the International Master title in 1991 before becoming a Grandmaster in 2003.
Kaminksi was born in Wrocław, Poland on February 14, 1969. His interest in chess began when he was young, earning him the titles of both Junior Vice Champion and Champion of Lower Silesia. He graduated from Wrocław Polytechnic in 1993 and continued his chess career, playing in Polish and international tournaments.
His achievements include winning the International Chess Tournament in Łeba in 1991, taking third place in the Polish Chess Championship in 1994, and achieving high rankings in multiple FIDE Grand Prix tournaments. Kamiński's highest ever ranking was 135th in the world in 2000. He was also part of the Polish National Chess Team that participated in the European Chess Team Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2003.
Since 2018, Kamiński has been a trainer in the Polish Chess Federation and he has authored several books on chess. His book 'Tajniki Twardej Gry' (Secrets of Hard Play) was published in 2001 and focuses on different aspects of the game such as tactics, strategy, and endgame situations.
Despite having a successful career in chess, Kamiński's lifestyle is not just limited to the game. He is also a paraglider and a pilot of ultra-light aircrafts, interests that he indulges in during his spare time away from the chess board.
