Marcin Krzyżanowski is a Polish chess grandmaster, which is the highest title presented to a player by the World Chess Federation. He achieved this title in 2020. Krzyżanowski was born on 29 October 1985 in Kraków, Poland. He is not only a grandmaster but also a lawyer, being a graduate from the University of Silesia in Katowice.

In his Chess career, he won multiple prestigious tournaments like the European Rapid Chess Championship in 2017, and Polish Chess Championships, both in rapid and blitz format. He also achieved a notable victory in the Riga Technical University Open in August 2018, securing first place in a competition featuring almost 300 players.

Krzyżanowski is also a specialist at blindfold chess which requires players to play without sight of the board. He set a Polish record in this discipline, playing 15 games simultaneously in 2016.

Krzyżanowski is rated as one of the world's top players in chess960 (also called Fischer Random Chess), a variant of chess that was invented by former world champion Bobby Fischer. He won the Polish championship in this variant five times until 2020, and the European Championship in 2011. He also took second place in the World Championship in chess960 in 2019.

In 2021, he was a member of the Polish team that competed in the Online Chess Olympiad, where the team took the second place.
