..and the RHP ACCIDENTAL EVERGREEN

After t.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nd5?!

Black is going for the smothered mate on move 7

Here it in all it's glory. over 1,500 have set it.
(this number is going up everyday)
86 games have have ended this way.
(this number is going up everyday)

It should be 87 but Game 6657504 had this position

and Black instead of mating his oppoent nicked the
Queen with 7...Nxc2+ he went onto win (eventually).

The herp of the hour is Marko Krale User 115856
who has set this trap....

30 times? No.

50 times? No.

100 times? No.

200 times? No.

300 times? No.

This is getting boring.....

400 times? No.

over 470 times Marko has gone for this trap.
He has had the mate 14 times and 31 times he has played 5...Qxg2
after which Whits is doomed.

His overall record with Black in this trap is p470 W.230 D.50 L.187.

He made an incredible mouse slip in one game and must
have been in a right hurry. Game 2025435 he played 5...Qg3?? Instead of 5...Qxg2.

White played 6.fxg3?!
Capturing towards the centre with 6.hxg3 was better. No need to get sloppy.

This trap has also produce the RHP ACCIDENTAL EVERGREEN
(I call it accidental because I don't think the lad meant it)

Xampu- Benarr RHP 2005

Look out for White missing mate in one. (and losing)

I would have guessed 1.e4...e5 2.Nf3...Nf6 Petroff defense 3.Nxe5...Nxe4?
4.Qe2 wins atleast a pawn but right now is attacking the Knight. 4...Nf6??
5.Say goodbye to blacks Queen. 😉

Hi (use diagrams - much easier)

Reached 502 times White wins 327 D. 37 Losses 136.

White is not quite setting a trap as 3.Nxe5 is a perfectly playable
and standard move.

Black is infact setting himself up for the trap though 3...Nxe5 is not
an automatic loss and is playable.

In the now named Marko trap 3...Nd5!? is questionable and is going for the trap.

Maybe we could label these as "Rampant Chess Posting." 😏

It's easy.

Practise on a post with the 'Preview before post' radio button clicked.

Thread 132261

Diagram can replace a dozen or so words and you are not asking
anyone to carry moves and a posrtion in their head.

I was one of the 86 games! 🙂

I was playing white.:'(

I can't find the game, as it's been a while, but I'm proud, (well, maybe not) to say I was part of RHP's history.

Edit- GP, do you know how many scholar's Mates there have been on RHP?

I was wondering what was happening after white speeds up things, and play Bxf7 Kxf7 Nxe5+

the spontaneous way for me would be Ke8 followed by Qh5+ g6 Nxb6

and white doesn't look bad, does he?

But I am very ignorant on e4 matters, so if someone could enlighten me...

black queen? I don't think it is if we play 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nd4 4. Bxf7 Kxf7 5.Nxe5.

and Ke7 seems pretty ugly then, as it blocks black queen and bishop, doesn't it?
