1. d4 Ng8f6 2. c4 e6 3. c5 Nb8c6 4. e3 e5
Don't like that pawn on c5 cutting off my bishop. I had recently played a game with White where a similar situation occured and d4 worked well, thus I'm playing it again.
5. dxe5 Nc6xe5
As soon as I played this move I realised this knights are placed somewhat uncomfortable.
6. Qd1c2
Obviously he likes his pawn...
6... d6 7. b4
.. very much.
7... dxc5 8. bxc5 g6
I concentrated too much on this c5 pawn. Plan here was to prepare for Bf5, but now two knights and the rook in the same diagonal, barely protected by a queen
9. Bc1b2
He spotted that too.
9... Ne5c6
At least preventing that pawn from causing even more mess.
10. Bf1b5 Bc8f5 11. Qc2b3
Finally the pawn is undefended.
11... Bf8xc5
But taking it...
12. Bb5xc6 bxc6
...costs doubled pawns.
13. Qb3c4
As if it got almost boring, a new problem arises. Bishop can't be moved unless I want a nasty Qxc6. At the same time someone has to have an eye on this poor pinned knight, so...
13... Qd8d6
...this was the only move I came up with.
14. Ng1f3 O-O
The king didn't feel too comfortable on the semi-open e-file. Plus it unpins the knight. Considered castling queenside but was afraid of a later Qa6 with possible continuations.
15. O-O
Ironically, after his castling I finally get a chance to attack myself!
15... Bf5d3
Winning the exchange.
16. Qc4c3 Bd3xf1 17. Kg1xf1
For god's sake, I just realised my knight is pinned again! *sigh* And how should I save him anyway?
17... Bc5b4
Only thing I could think of, taking the pressure off the a1-h8 diagonal.
18. Qc3xf6
Checkmate looms large now.
18... Qd6d1
But I'm first.
