Dmitry Evgenyevich Andreikin is a Russian chess Grandmaster, known in the world chess fraternity for being the World Junior Chess Champion in 2010, and the runner-up in the Chess World Cup 2013. He was born on February 15, 1990, in Ryazan, Russia.


Andreikin started playing chess at a young age and quickly became a rising star in the field. By 2002, at just twelve years of age, he won the U12 section at the World Youth Chess Championship. Later in 2010, he hit a major milestone by becoming the World Junior Chess Champion.


His list of performance highlights is impressive. In 2012, Andreikin won the Russian Chess Championship. He also finished in fourth place at the Alekhine Memorial Tournament in Paris and St. Petersburg, in 2013.


His pinnacle achievement would definitely the Chess World Cup 2013, where he faced off against famous Dutch grandmaster Anish Giri and managed to secure a spot in the final by winning the semifinals against him. However, he finished as a runner-up after losing to the Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian in the finals.


Since then, Andreikin has continued to display his mastery over the game with many remarkable performances in various chess tournaments around the globe, regularly competing against some of the world's best players. He has also represented Russia in a number of team events.
