Dejan Antić is a Serbian chess grandmaster who was awarded the International Master title in 1995 and the grandmaster title in 1999 by FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs), the international chess federation.
Antić was born on August 18, 1968, in Pirot, Serbia. He started his chess career at a young age and in addition to his titles, he has achieved numerous accolades in the game. Antić won the Yugoslav Junior Championship in 1987 and the Serbia and Montenegro Championship in 2001. He was also a member of the Yugoslav team that won the European U26 Team Chess Championship in 1988.
In 2016, Antić co-authored a book called "The Modern French", with Branimir Maksimović, which has been praised in chess circles for its comprehensive coverage of the French Defence, a common chess opening. Antić still plays and coaches chess, and he has also actively contributed to the world of publishing, writing for various chess magazines like 'Sahovski Informator' and 'Sahovska Edicija'.
In the world of correspondence chess, Antić has been a participant and he earned the title of International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster in 2012. He played for Serbia and Montenegro (then Serbia) in several Chess Olympiads and European Team Chess Championships. He also represented Serbia in the World Team Chess Championship in 2010.
