Peter Biyiasas (born November 19, 1950) is a Greek-Canadian chess player who gained significant recognition as an International Grandmaster. He was born in Athens, Greece, but immigrated to Canada at a young age.

In his early career, Biyiasas won the Canadian Chess Championship twice, in 1972 and 1975. He also played board two for Canada in the 1971 World Student Team Championship in Puerto Rico. His performance helped the Canadian team to achieve fourth place, their highest rank ever in that tournament. In 1978, he was awarded the International Grandmaster title based on his performances in international tournaments.

During his time in the U.S, he played and won against then World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov in a simultaneous game in 1978. After retiring from professional chess play in the 1980s, Biyiasas moved to San Francisco, California, where he plays high-stakes blitz chess.

Despite his significant contributions to the chess world, Biyiasas also made a name for himself as a computer programmer. He is particularly interested in artificial intelligence programming, creating chess programs that can play at a high level. He contributed to Chessmaster 2000, a popular chess-playing software of its time.

While Biyiasas no longer participates in current competitive chess, his legacy in Canadian chess history is prominent.
