Diego Flores is a notable Argentine chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster. He was born on 18th December 1982 in Buenos Aires and started playing chess from a young age, eventually pursuing the game at a professional level. He has achieved several significant milestones and awards, which have greatly contributed to his recognition within the field of chess.
In 1999, Flores won the World Youth Chess Championship in the under-18 category. Thereafter, he was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2005 for his outstanding competency in chess. He has also participated and shown excellent performances in numerous chess events and competitions.
One of his most remarkable achievements is winning the Argentina Chess Championship five times (2005, 2009, 2012, 2017 and 2018). He also bagged the gold medal in the American Continental Championships in 2005 and the Ibero-American Championship in 2017, which qualified him for the Chess World Cup 2019.
