Dmitry D. Kayumov is a Russian chess Grandmaster and author. A bioinformatician by education, he was awarded the title of International Master by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) in 2006 and then granted the Grandmaster title in 2016 by allowing the title claim of Edvins Kengis for the Latvian Chess Championship 1991 to be included in his rating.
He has several notable achievements in chess. In 2006, he won the Cup of Russia in Rapid Chess, and in 2007, he was the winner of the Major League of the Russian Championship. He has also participated in several European and World championships representing Russia.
As an author, he has written a book on chess, titled "Small Steps to Big Chess," published in 2011. The book focuses on strategies, tactics, and the concepts in the game of chess.
