Ludger Keitlinghaus is a German Chess FIDE Master who made significant contributions to the world of correspondence chess. He was born on 15 August 1956. His first notable achievement was winning the XIV World Championship of Correspondence Chess from 1998 to 2002, making him the first player from the Tournament of Seven to win a world title.
Keitlinghaus later participated in the ICCF World Cup XI from 1999 to 2004, where he finished in the third place. He also took part in the World Cup XII from 2004 to 2008 and again won third place. Other championships that Keitlinghaus partook in include the ICCF World Cup XIV from 2009 to 2013, where he finished in the top ten, and the ICCF World Cup XV from 2015 to 2019, where he finished in the top 25.
Keitlinghaus has actively promoted German chess throughout his career. From 2001 to 2005, he served as the third chairman of the German Correspondence Chess Federation (BdF). Since 2013, he has held the position of the second chairman.
Apart from his achievements in the chess world, Keitlinghaus is also known to have completed a bicycle tour of all German state capitals in 2010 to raise money for a children's hospice. He managed to raise about 4,000 euros. He is still active in his chess career.
