Dmitrij Kollars (born August 3, 1999 in Kassel, Germany) is a German chess player, who has held the title of Grandmaster (GM) since April 2017. Kollars first learned to play chess at the age of four and became a member of the German Chess Federation at six. He trained at Schachhaus Heliopark Harvestehude in Hamburg.
In 2011, he won first place in the U12 German Championship, securing his place in the World Youth Chess Championships (WYCC) in Brazil. Kollars also won a gold medal at the 2016 German Junior Championships in the U18 category, and later won the GM norm at the 27th World Youth U16 Chess Olympiads.
Kollars won the 27th Erfurt Master Open in 2015, and finished second at the 2015 WYCC in Greece. Although he initially finished third in the 2016 WYCC, he was elevated to the second position after the original second-place winner was disqualified for cheating.
Achievements in 2017 included competing in the German Championship and the European Individual Chess Championship, where he finished in the top 20. He won his first open international tournament at the Zalakaros Open that same year.
