Jean-Pierre Le Roux is a French chess player who achieved the ranking of Grandmaster, the highest title a chess player can attain, in 2010. He was born on 18 April 1982.
In 2002, Le Roux won the French Junior Chess Championship, and he is a three-time winner of the Championship of Brittany. He has also represented France in multiple Chess Olympiads, first doing so in 2006.
He has been a member of the French team in the World Team Chess Championship and European Team Chess Championships.
Le Roux also distinguishes himself as a master of correspondence chess, a form of chess where players relay their moves via mail or email, allowing for a more thoughtful and protracted game. He achieved the Grandmaster of Correspondence Chess title in 2018, becoming only the fifth person in history to be awarded both the over-the-board and correspondence Grandmaster titles.
