Anatoly Lutikov was a chess Grandmaster from the Soviet Union. He was born on May 5, 1933 and passed away on July 17, 1989. Outside of chess, he worked as a teacher in sport school compare. Over the course of his career, Lutikov won several tournaments, including Moscow international tournament in 1963, Malta open in 1980, and Frunze in 1957 and 1958. His best single performance came at the 1969 URS-ch sf, where he scored 9.5 out of 14 points (68😵 against a 2519-rated field, achieving a PR of 2602. He earned his International Master title in 1967 and was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 1974. Lutikov also contributed to the development of chess opening theory, notably in the Grünfeld Defence. Despite holding a Grandmaster title, Lutikov was less active in competitive chess in the latter part of his life, largely due to poor health. However, he remained involved with the sport and made significant contributions to chess theory and literature.
