Petr Neuman is a Czech chess grandmaster. Neuman was awarded the title of International Master in 2011 and achieved the title of Grandmaster in 2020. He was born on August 12, 1975, in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia and has been a successful player both nationally and internationally. He has participated in various tournaments throughout Europe and has received a number of national and international rankings.
Neuman has achieved significant success in team events. From 2009 to 2018, he played for the Moravian Chess Club ŠK Duras BVK. From 2018 to present, he has been a member of the ŠK Líšeň team. Throughout his career, he has won several competitions for teams in the Czech Republic. He has also represented his country in the European Team Chess Championships and in the Chess Olympiad, scoring positive results for his team overall.
On a personal level, some of his most notable achievements include winning the Czech Cup in rapid chess in 2016 as well as several second-place finishes in the Czech Rapid Chess Championship. He has also represented the Czech Republic at the Mitropa Cup.
In addition to his achievements as a player, Petr Neuman also lectures at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of the Brno University of Technology, where he specializes in the use of artificial intelligence in chess. He has published several papers on this topic and regularly contributes to Czech chess commentary.
