Nebojša Nikčević is a widely recognized chess player and Grandmaster, born on October 30, 1964, in Nikšić, Montenegro, which was then part of Yugoslavia. Even though he didn't earn the title of the Grandmaster until 1995, his contribution to the field of chess has made him a notable figure in the world of this game.
Throughout his career, Nikčević has competed in numerous tournaments, both individually and as part of a team. One of his most notable accomplishments is representing Yugoslavia in the Chess Olympiad in 1990 and 1992, where his performance contributed to the team’s overall success. His participation in various local, international and interzonal tournaments has also been highlighted in his career.
Besides being a competitive player, Nikčević is also known as a chess trainer and author. He has trained individuals and teams, enabling them to improve their skills and performance in the game. His career as an author is marked by the publication of the chess book "Winning Pawn Structures" in 2003, debunking various techniques and strategies in chess. Despite being translated into several languages, this remains his only known publication.
