Tomi Nybäck is a Finnish chess player who holds the prestigious title of Grandmaster (GM). He was born on April 3, 1985, in Järvenpää, Finland. Nybäck has been considered one of Finland's strongest chess players having represented Finland in the Chess Olympiads eleven times, and contributing to the best Finnish result in 30 years, when Finland finished 39th in the 2010 Chess Olympiad.
He has won the Finnish Championship in chess twice, in 2008 and 2014. Nybäck has also tasted international success, having won the Heart of Finland tournament in 2005 and Nordkalotten in 2007. In 2008, he won at Vammala, and in 2009 he came joint first at the Olomouc Chess Summer tournament.
