He has also prevailed in other tournaments, such as the Chigorin Memorial (tied for 1st–3rd places in 1994), the Ulan Ude (1st place in 1995), the Arnold Cup (winner in 1996), the Aosta Open (winner in 1997), and the Tula (won in 2002). His participation in these professional tournaments from 1994 to 2002 shows his sustained high level of performance.
Piskov has competed in the Chess Olympiad thrice. He played for Russia as the second reserve player on Russia II during the 30th Chess Olympiad. This team qualified to win the silver medal. Piskov secured two more participations in the Olympiad in 1984 and 1986 (then still playing for the Soviet Union).
