Michael Prusikin is a German chess Grandmaster and coach who was born on 19th March 1979 in Russia. His career in chess began at a young age when he received third place in the European Youth Chess Championship in 1995.
In 2001, Prusikin achieved his International Master and three years later, he was awarded the prestigious title of Grandmaster. He has played for various European clubs including SC Kreuzberg, SG Speyer-Schwegenheim, SK Turm Emsdetten, and Schachgesellschaft Zurich.
Prusikin won the Open German Internet Chess Championship in 2005. In 2006, he gained the ultimate victory by winning the German Championship for individuals. His outstanding performance continued with finishing 3rd in the European Rapid Chess Championship in 2007.
Besides playing, Prusikin holds a significant role as a chess coach. He was the head of the German youth team training and supervised the German women’s team during their participation in the 37th Chess Olympiad in Turin in 2006. Moreover, he's authored a number of chess books and created DVD lectures for ChessBase, a leading chess software company.
