Reinderman first gained attention in the chess world at the age of 14. In 1988, he won the under-16 championship at the Open Dutch Youth Chess Championships. In 1992, he began his journey to the status of grandmaster, becoming an International Master. A few years later, in 1998, he was granted the title of Grandmaster.
Throughout his career, Reinderman has competed in numerous high-profile chess tournaments. He won the Dutch Chess Championship in 2013, and has also participated in three Chess Olympiads, representing the Netherlands in 1998, 2006, and 2012. Reinderman stands out for his unusual and unpredictable style of play, often choosing openings and strategies that are unconventional. He has contributed numerous articles to chess magazines, including New in Chess and Schaakmagazine.
Reinderman also combines his passion for chess with his affinity for computers. He has a degree in computer science and has worked for a software development company.
Despite his accomplishments as a professional player and his academic pursuits, Reinderman remains active in promoting chess. In 2010, along with two other well-known Dutch grandmasters, he established the Amsterdam Chess Academy, which aims to make chess more accessible for young people.
