Rossetto made significant strides in the chess world throughout his career. In 1942, he won the Mar del Plata tournament and did so again in 1948 and 1958. He competed in multiple Argentine Championships, achieving victories in 1944, 1947, 1958, 1972, and 1975. Rossetto also represented Argentina internationally on several occasions, including the memorable Chess Olympiad victories in 1950, at Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia.

For his substantial contributions to the game, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) awarded him the Grandmaster title in 1960. Following his successful playing career, Rossetto transitioned his focus towards promoting chess through writing. He wrote about chess in the Argentine newspaper, Clarín, and published a book named "Nuestro Ajedrez" in 1984.

He played an instrumental role in mentoring new-age Argentine chess players transitioning from raw talents into world-class grandmasters. With his enduring devotion to the game, Rossetto became a notable figure in the Argentine and international chess communities.
