Philipp Schlosser is a German chess Grandmaster, a title he achieved in 1996. Born in Amberg on March 10, 1968, he has been active in the chess competition circuit since the 1980s. Throughout his career, Schlosser has been a member of multiple chess clubs, starting with SG Luzern in Switzerland and ending with the OSG Baden-Baden in Germany.
His chess achievements include a fifth-place finish in the World Junior Chess Championship in 1987. In 1992, he became a chess International Master. Other accomplishments include being a German Individual Chess Champion in 1994, winning the Gausdal Tournament in Norway in 1995, and participating in Chess Olympiads in 1996 and 2000.
Schlosser is known for his writings on chess, specifically the endgame, and has published several articles and books on the subject. He has written for the German magazine ‘Schach’ as well as other chess publications.
