Early Life and Career: Jan-Christian Schröder was born in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and currently lives in Kiel. He started playing chess at seven and became a member of the Lübecker Schachverein of 1873. He won several regional and national junior championships. Schröder's first international success came when he won the U16 European Youth Chess Championship held in Poreč in 2014.
Achievements: Schröder became a FIDE Master in 2013, an International Master in 2016, and a Grandmaster in 2019.
