Henrik Teske is a Photographer, KandidEx, and Chess Grandmaster from Germany, who received his grandmaster title from FIDE (The World Chess Federation) in 2011. He is known for winning series of international chess tournaments and European games. Teske was born on August 5, 1968, in Potsdam, Germany.
Developing a passion for chess from a young age, Teske joined the University of Leipzig in 1987. In parallel with his sports career, he also trained as an economist. Upon completion of his studies in 1993, he began his career in real estate management but continued to play chess professionally.
On the international chess stage, Teske began to achieve significant results in the 1990s. He has received several medals at the European Team Chess Championships for players with disabilities, including silver in 1995 and gold in 2003 and 2005 as part of the German team. In 1993, he received the title of International Master. His most significant victory was in the traditional tournament in Cappelle-la-Grande in 2010.
Teske currently works professionally as a photographer with his main focus being on photographing chess events.
