Yevgeniy Vladimirov is a Kazakhstani chess grandmaster. He was born on 20 December 1957, in Alma-Ata. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 1989.

Vladimirov's most notable achievement was his win at the 1989 USSR Championship, where he tied for first place with Alexander Chernin. After participating in the 53rd USSR Chess Championship in 1986, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Vladimirov has also participated in a number of international tournaments, ranking variously from top 20 to top 50 players in the world.

Other achievements include assisting world champion Anatoly Karpov in preparation of World Chess Championships from 1978 to 1986.

In 2006, his world ranking fell after he was accused by the English Grandmaster Danny Gormally of violating rules at the World Chess Olympiad in Turin, when Gormally noticed he always made the same moves at the same time as his student, Zhang Zhong. He was also accused of sending text messages to his student during the course of the game.

Vladimirov has written several chess books, which include commentaries on various tournament games and the techniques of top-ranked chess players.

He is still active in the Kazakhstani chess community and continues to make significant contributions to the sport. He also continues to work as a coach and mentor, despite the controversies that have arisen in the past.
