Vorobiov is known for his accomplishments as a chess player, his participation in numerous national and international competitions, and his participation in the development of chess education and its popularization in Russia. He was a participant of the Chess Olympiad in 2000.
In 2001, Vorobiov became a Master of Sports of Russia and won the Moscow Open. In 2002, he was champion in the Russian team chess championship and won the 2002 World Chess Open. He was also awarded the title of International Master the same year.
In 2003, Vorobiov was a participant of the European Individual Chess Championship.
He was awarded the Grandmaster title in 2005 and became a champion in Grandmaster tournament in Voronezh. In 2013, he won first place in the Moscow Chess Championship.
Vorobiov has contributed to the promotion of chess in Russia, writing numerous articles and giving lectures on chess. He has also worked in the development of chess education in Russia, where he has worked to include chess in the general education curriculum.
