Leonid Grigoryevich Yudasin is a renowned chess Grandmaster and a two-time Israeli champion in the sport. He was born in Leningrad, now known as St. Petersburg, on August 8, 1959. In the 1980s, Yudasin rose prominently in the world of chess, winning multiple tournaments and securing high rankings in others. He won the USSR Chess Championship in 1984 and placed second in 1990.

In 1990, he immigrated to Israel, where he continued to excel as a chess player. His achievements include winning the Israeli Chess Championship twice, in 1994 and 2005. He also represented Israel in eight Chess Olympiads between 1992 and 2006, achieving strong performances.

Yudasin then moved to the United States in 1999 and currently serves as a chess teacher in New York City. Over the course of his career, he has been awarded the title of International Master in 1982, and Grandmaster in 1984 by FIDE, the international chess federation. Despite his active participation in chess dwindling over time, he still remains a prominent figure in the sport.

In his personal life, Yudasin is married to fellow Grandmaster, Yelena Yudasin. He is known for combining chess with education and holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Pedagogy.
