Aleksandr Zlochevsky is a renowned Russian Chess Grandmaster, born on September 10, 1951. He hails from Orenburg, and later moved to Tashkent.


He remarkably stood first in the Uzbekistan Chess Championship in the years 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984. Later, in 1986, he achieved the title of Grandmaster, indicating his superior playing skills. He also won the Tashkent Championship in the year 1981.


Throughout his career, he has competed in a number of tournaments worldwide, including the USSR Chess Championship, lasting from 1980 to 1991. Even though he didn't win the championship, his performance was commendable.


Zlochevsky's chess skills led him to a coaching career. He mentored Igor Novikov, who ended up winning the World Junior Chess Championship in 1987. As an author, he penned the "Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations."
