So what's with the name? In 1979 after the overthrow of the government by a fascist religious regime and by the order (Fatwa) of its ignorant leader, chess was banned in my beloved homeland Iran.
Persia (Iran's historic name) and India invented this beautiful game, where the king's armies included the Vazir (Queen in the western adaptation), Fil (elephant = Bishop), Asb (horse = knight), Rokh (castle) and finally Sarbaz (infantry, pawn).
