My home is in a high mountain valley of Colorado. I turned to online chess after our local chess club shut down, the nearest functioning club being over a hundred miles away. I hadn't played an over-the-board game in 3 or 4 years, and I was a little fearful of the time demanded by these slower, more considered games. So far, however, it's been very enjoyable.
