Learnt to play chess in 1960 and played in school tournaments; joined a club in 1965, joined NPSF - The Norwegian Correspondence Chess Federation in 1972. President NPSF 1983-99, President Ås Chess Club 1981-96, President Follo Chess Club 1999-.
