Minor Exchange

Minor Exchange in chess refers to a player trading a knight or a bishop (also known as minor pieces) for the opponent's bishop or knight. It is called an exchange because the player is essentially swapping one piece for another of similar value, with each piece being valued at approximately three pawns. The term is used to distinguish from the 'major exchange' of a rook for a bishop or knight.
