I've had 3 opponents on various sites play this against me lately. Does anybody know if this variation has a name,as I've never seen it before.

It will have a name, all these kooky openings do.
It might even have two names!

1.e4 e5 2.b3 The Mr Sly Boots Attack.
1.b3 e5 2.e4 The Loss ot Tempo Opening.

The obvious answer is 2...d5 and hit the sac trail big time.

I trust you won these games or at the very least come out the opening
with a good position.

Of course this thread (and remember boys I did not start it) gives me the
perfect excuse to show my one and only game to appear in New in Chess. (again.) 😏

A few new guys have popped up. They might not have seen it.

Gordon Morrison - G. Chandler, Edinburgh Minor 1978.

Enjoy, (especially White's last move) remember this was a full bloodied
OTB tournament game not a blitz or skittles.
Be warned, most of you will never play sound chess again after seeing this game.
It will inspire you to great things.
Of course you will lose dozens of game...but...and here is the pure joy.
Every now and then, this happens.
