  • 1. e4 e5
I usually play e5 in response to e4.
    • 2. Ng1f3 Nb8c6 3. Bf1b5 a6 4. Bb5a4 Ng8f6 5. O-O Nf6xe4
I have not played this a lot, but I do think it fits my style - whatever that is.
      • 6. d4 b5 7. Ba4b3 d5 8. dxe5 Bc8e6 9. c3 Bf8e7 10. Nb1d2 O-O 11. Bb3c2 f5 12. Nd2b3 Qd8d7 13. Nb3d4 Nc6d8
Perhaps this was not the best move. My intent was to get the Knight to e6, which I did, but I am not convinced this was best.
        • 14. Nd4xe6 Nd8xe6 15. Nf3d4 Ra8d8
In retrospect I do not like this move. Maybe Nxd4 followed by Ng4 and getting my other Knight to e6 was better. Removing the rook from the A file was probably not good. c5 at this time would have allowed Nxf5 Rxf5, 17. Bxe5. I don't recall seeing this during the game.

I thought f3 might be an option for you.
            • 16... c5
While this looks good, maybe Bc5 or c6 protecting the d5 pawn was better.
              • 17. Nd4xe6 Qd7xe6 18. f3 Ne4g5
I don't recall even considering Nf6 or Nd6, which were possible because your e5 pawn was pinned.
                • 19. a4
No I regret having moved my rook from the A file. Good move.
                  • 19... Qe6b6
I was proud of this move at the time, but I think b4 or c4 would have been better. I over estimated the value of having my Queen in line w/ your King.
                    • 20. axb5 Qb6xb5
This compounds the mistake. axb must be better. I must have been thinking my chances would be better without the Queens. I don't know why.
