? I probably should not have retreated the knight to this square. A better move may have been to defend it with the queen.

My knight which was on a great square is now gone, and all he lost in return was his lackluster knight.

Perhaps I could have recaptured with the pawn instead. On f6 my queen is covering a lot less squares than it was on d6. If I took with the pawn then my critical central passed pawn would have a defender.
