    @Russ
I just took a look at the "My Performance" page and it looks fine, and is sorted in alphabetical order, it looks good! 🙂

I'm starting to sound like a nag, but here's another one already mentioned.

On the "My Home" page, at the bottom is a link to the "My Performance" page. This is a list of all my opponents. It appears to be in alphabetical order, but it actually is broken up into numerous groups of opponents, and each smaller group is sorted in alphabetical order. So I think the smaller groups need to be changed into just one big group, and then sorted alphabetically. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks, I missed that. If no folder has been previously chosen, the default will be All Games now.
Good going Russ! That is working again, but now the other problem comes up. 'All Games' is now on a single ten mile long page, since there aren't several shorter pages.

But it isn't limited to just this one data list. It's going to be an issue for any of the 'single long page' of items.

So maybe at some time you can incorporate the 'fast find' system you pointed out on the Blogs page on all 'single long page' lists, where we can go quickly to a year and month without having to scroll down that long single page!

🙂 I know, there is no rest for the weary!

I just noticed on the beta that the 'game history' button is no longer there on the game board display page. Is that a bug, or intentional?

Also, on the 'My Games' page, the 'All Games' main folder does not bring up a list of all games played by you. It just shows the games from your 'Inbox' sub-folder. (already posted this one a few days ago, so a reminder)

I just looked and what is happening in the beta is when you get to a players' profile page and click on 'view games', the beta is adding hyphens between the words in the players' name in both of the examples you mentioned. So I think what you mentioned about replacing spaces with hyphens is exactly what is happening!

The regular webpage does not do that. To verify this on the beta, edit the players' name by deleting the hyphens and just leave a space, then you will see what you are looking for.

Perhaps this has to do with usernames that have more than one word? Beta is replacing the space with a hyphen. I just tested this theory on a couple of other usernames with more than one word, and it does the same thing. Replace the hyphen with a space, and it's OK then. Single word usernames work fine on the beta.

A code monkey will probably know how to fix it! 🙂

OK, I can see by following the links that you posted that you are talking about another persons PROFILE page, and not the "MY HOME" page.

And I also now see that the beta does have a problem with this.

And I also see that on the profile page it does say "View Games", just like on that upper navigation bar.

So it could be that the beta is erroneously going to that top link instead of the one that shows a specific individuals full list of games, since they both have the same tag or title.

In other words, when you click the 'view games' llink on that top navigation bar you are shown current game activity for all members. But if you click the link with the same title, that is on an individual's profile page, you should be shown a list of just that one persons games. And in the Beta, that is not happening.

Probably clear as mud, but now I think I understand your earlier post! 🙂

[And now I have to wonder if this is somehow related to a problem I mentioned in an earlier post about the 'my games' page. It was concerning the "all games" folder failing to show that list of 'all' games. Instead, it just shows the 'inbox' games on that page. Is there a connection with these two problems?]

Old version: going to a player's home page and clicking on View Games leads to a page showing only that player's games, which is what one would expect.

beta: ... leads to a page showing all running games on RHP, not what one expects.
Hey moonbus, I just tried that on the beta and the current sites, and I am getting the list of everyone's current games in either case. Nothing to do with my games speciifically.

I am clicking the link located on the top navigation bar that runs across the page, and is the same thing found on other pages as well. It is labeled "View Games", located between "Players" and "Forums".

I suspect that navigation bar is not meant to be associated to the Home Page. It is at the top of other pages as well.

And in looking at my Home page on either the beta or the current website, I do not see a link labeled "View Games" anywhere else. Just on that top navigation bar.

Now, if you go to "My Games" and click the "All games" folder at the top, that will show all of your games, on the current site version. On the beta it isn't working right. It just shows you your "inbox" games. At least that's what I'm seeing on my laptop, running firefox and win7.

Anyway, I just thought I would describe what I am seeing, in case you want to give it another look. 🙂

When going to My Home/My Performance page, you get a full list of all of your opponents, but that list does not sort correctly. If you select 'ALL' the list does not sort in alphabetical order. It appears like it tries to, but it is not a consistent list of opponents from A to Z. It is presented in 'clusters' but is not linear.

The other list sorting filters do not appear to work correctly either.
As already mentioned, this list would also be much better to view if the column header would stay at the top of the page instead of scrolling off of the page.

I hope this description is understandable. 🙂

One alternative, see the new blogs navigation update - a similar option could be possible for nearly all tables (but from a drop down menu)
Yes, that does look like a very good option!

Is there an option to not 'infinite scroll', but keep the pages of data that we currently have?

If you are interested in going back through the forum to look at posts or threads from several years ago, It may take forever now.

For example, the general forum currently is over 1500 pages, and will take us back to 8 August, 2001, with 30 threads per page.

So using infinite scroll, it will take a very long time to get back to the first page of any forum.

Perhaps there could be an option to go back one year at a time, or maybe one month at a time. Or an option to type in a specific date and get there directly?
Probably not reasonable for this beta implementation, but still something to think about for a future update.

When looking at any page or list of names or anything with multiple date displayed in columns, the top row identifies whatever data is displayed in each column.

When you scroll down any long page, that top identifying row moves off of the page along with the data rows, instead of staying frozen at the top. So the result is that the column identification vanishes from view as soon as you start to scroll.

This would be much more useful if the top row stayed frozen at the top of the page, and only the date below that top row were moved up or down the page as you scroll the page.

Does my description of the problem make sense?
(By the way, this is not a new problem with the beta, this has been like this for a long time. I think I brought this up in the 'site ideas' forum in the past.)

On the beta 'my games' page, when I look at the inbox, it show my games that are in progress. I always move my completed games to various other folders that I have created. So the inbox on beta is working fine and showing only my current 'in progress' games. The other sub-folders also seem to be working correctly.

However, in the beta version, the 'all games' folder at the top only shows my inbox games. It does not show 'all' games. It's just a duplicate of my inbox games.

I compared this to the normal version, and in the normal version when I click the 'all games' folder, I get all of my games, and they go back to my first games played back to 2001, and they appear to be in order, by date played. They include all mixed type of games for ladder, tournament, challenge, clans, etc. In other words, all of my games.

So I suspect there may be a bug on the 'my games' page.

I will save this and try to figure it out. I noticed you need to complete 12 games in order to do this. I have only completed 6 so far...
Well, that's a new one on me. I wasn't aware of needing to complete 12 games in order to upload an avatar. But you're already half-way there. Maybe that was just recently started. I do know you have to complete 20 rated games in order to get rid of your provisional rating.

Anyway, you can still work on those images and get them ready to upload. Just follow the instructions and make a note of the file size and image dimension size information.
