Mayet's Mate features a rook delivering checkmate along an open file, supported by a bishop controlling a diagonal that covers the king's escape squares. Named after the 19th-century German chess player Carl Mayet. It is a variation of Anderssen's Mate and closely resembles the Opera Mate.
