Sunday Lesson video
In today lesson, I expand on yesterdays video and convert king n 3 pawns to king and 6 pawns vs king an 6 pawns.
I also demonstrated a mini-game you can play aimed to help you practice your end game. King and 8 pawns vs king 8 pawns. 1st pawn to the end wins, the objective is not to mate. Then I went on to explain you can practice with adding each of the pieces on as you go. E.X King, Bishop and 8 pawns, progressing all the way to playing with the Q.
This helps you to practice with the king in the end game, als o it teaches you the importance of position of the king having to decided which side of the board you want on the king on and stick to it.
Also the importance of pawn structure, as the objective of the mini-game is to get the pawn to the end, 1st to the end wins.
My opening I demonstrated : The Scillion Nardof is one of Gary Kasparov favorite openings. The Nigel short vs Kasporv Match I was 11 and Glued to Channel 4 watching nothing but these games.
Scillion Nardolf: if you want to learn an opening this would be a good one.
