I learned to play chess when I was 12 years old. I used to play chess regularly. I was one of the top 10 scholastic chess players in the state of New Mexico where I am originally from for a period of time. However it has been several years. Now I am just trying to enjoy the game and get back into it. I took a break from playing chess since it was dominating my life. Chess was all that I cared about. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I realized that I loved chess more than I loved Him. The Lord has worked in my life and led me to the realization that He is better and offers more satisfaction than anything else can. I am returning to chess seeking to honor Him in how I play the game, doing so with my eyes set on Him and not on the game itself. Chess is a game. It is enjoyable but there are far more important matters to consider. Especially a person's eternal destiny. If you have any questions about Jesus feel free to ask me.
I do take timeouts. However, if you tell me beforehand in the game that you will be unable to make your moves during a certain amount of time I will not take the timeout during that time.
