"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."
My Tale: old, married, 4 children, all grown now. Still working and sometimes enjoying it. Have played chess for a long time. Lifetime member of the USCF. Played correspondence since the Bobby Fischer days. But took a break to raise my kids and run a business. My oldest two kids talked me into playing here 4 years ago, as they were here. They no longer are, but after closing my office 5 years ago and now employed by other-than-myself, I have time to indulge in an old hobby, unum e pluribus. Purely for recreation. A great site to meet people all over the world, and talk. Like to talk. If you just want chess games, go elsewhere. If your ego is dependent on chess,
PLEASE go elsewhere. Used to run the Pittsburgh CC and I've seen that syndrome all too much. Entertaining,
but depressing.
And, I will not be insulted if you term me an idiot.
"Sad deserted shore, your fickle friends are leaving
Ah, but then you know
it's time for them to go
But I will still be here,
I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time"
