Hi
I returned to playing chess c2020 after a break of 30+ years. My objective was to improve my rating to c1500 within 2 yrs. I managed that but, largely by playing friends with lower ratings than my own. Hence the fairly slow, gradual upward trend. Retaining that rating when challenging opponents with equal or higher ratings than my own has been more problematic and I've struggled to get past the 1650 mark which by definition might be the limit of my ability, perhaps? Are YOU up to the challenge?
