I grew up playing chess and surrounded by strong players, but never really had the focus or desire to join them. My father has jokingly said, "Show me a good chessplayer and I'll show you more than a misspent youth," many times, and he's right in a lot of ways. Chess is good, and I admire those at the top level for their talent and skill, but I know how much work it takes to get there and I put that energy into different things.

Works is busy, home is busy - I don't have much spare time at the moment. I appreciate the kind offers, but I just don't have time to commit to a clan right now. I will be moving slowly and trimming down my games as much as possible for the foreseeable future. Mostly the site gives me a way to play slow chess with my Dad and banter about chess and life as we go.
