Hi everyone. I am from the St. Louis area and I of course love to play chess. I am also an MBA grad looking to network on here to find an interesting and challenging career.....so if you know of an opportunity please let me know, I would greatly appreciate the gesture.....and I am willing to re-locate too!
It has been awhile since I have played competitively. I first started playing chess when I was a kid against my 2 brothers and my Dad and Mom. In high school we played a bit on the high school team and played in only a few tournaments. I won Top Unrated Player in a St. Louis tourney many years ago. I learned from books especially during high school during a wicked snow storm that left me snowed in for a week or so. This time helped me develop my skills from a book of all the great players. Those are great memories for me as at least I found something to keep my mind off the bad weather...LOL.....but it started me on this lifelong love of the chess game that I am now introducing to my son. I eventually rose to a rating of only 1700 at one time which was pretty good for my effort, so I always strive to get higher and higher but the main thing is meeting all the good people of this game and teaching the younger kids how much this game of chess can be so enriching.
Tournament Entry Rating is calculated by the formula (CurrentRating + HighestRating) / 2. The entry rating will never drop to more than 100 points below your Highest Rating.
Rated stats are updated within 24 hours of the last completed rated game.
