Hi there, my name's Tony and I run Illingworth Chess Club (http://www.illingworthchess.webs.com/) in Halifax. This is a new venture as I was in charge of Leeds Chess Club for around 6 years, until I left the city recently. Due to this, I had to give up the club and start a new one, closer to my new location.

During my time at Leeds Chess Club I held many big simultaneous events where professional chess players visited the club, to play several people at once. GM Danny Gormally, IM Richard Palliser, GM Steven Gordon and FM Charlie Storey are some of the big names who played at the club, whilst I was in charge.

I have been playing in chess leagues all over Yorkshire for many years now and have been playing chess (on and off) for around 20/21 years in total.

I am a fair correspondence chess player, I usually move daily and I DO NOT use chess engines. I cannot promise that I won't run out of time, as this has happened to me before and I am quite happy for you to claim the win in this case. Fair is fair, and all that! If I see a skull I WILL click on it! Rules are rules, etc.

I work for Safestyle UK, in Bradford, as a payroller. I haven't been here long but I enjoy working here and get on with all of my colleagues. It's a job and it pays the bills 😀
