What is Attraction?
Chess Terms : Attraction Explained
Attraction is a tactical motif in which a piece—often the opposing king—is lured to a specific square, usually by means of a sacrifice. Once attracted to the target square, the piece becomes vulnerable to a subsequent tactical blow, such as a fork, skewer, discovered attack, or checkmate pattern. Attraction is closely related to decoy.
