Chess Terms : Blind Pigs Explained
Blind pigs (also called "pigs on the seventh" ) is a colloquial term for two rooks placed on the opponent's second rank (the seventh rank from the player's perspective). Rooks on the seventh rank are extremely powerful, attacking undefended pawns and restricting the opponent's king. The term "blind" refers to the idea that the rooks threaten everything on the rank but cannot necessarily see a direct path to checkmate.
