Bughouse chess (also called exchange chess or tandem chess) is a popular chess variant played by teams of two. Each team member plays one side on separate boards. Captured pieces are passed to the teammate, who may place them on their own board as a move. The game is fast-paced, highly tactical, and often played as blitz.
